It all started July 26th when I just finish installing windows 7 RC on my dad's g/f's computer. So once it was competed setup. I shut the system down and walk away. It started raining and never thought it would be lighting since its hard to see whats going outside there. It was only just light rain. I was in the middle of gaming on the pc working on my COD4 Lan Server and all of sudden SNAP/Crack and thunder roar. I open my eyes and my ears was ringing and I though I was to lose my hearing but all I can see is fire on my white plastic phone box. I put the fire out and then I notice my monitor is screwed up. I though the lighting did something to my computer but just the monitor. Then I checking to see what happen outside...just lightly raining and all I see is my phone box on side of the house blow in peices and I guess it travel to my phone and into my APC taking out the monitor, linksys WRT160N router, Hughesnet Internet Modem power adapter and my xbox 360. I was like god hates me! So went to check everything else...Dad's quad computer was ON? wtf? then I check the computer that I recently installed windows 7 RC..toast! Check my STB nfusion for my tv...toast too. My friends computer that plays with us on LAN...inboard sound no longer works. Check my dad's seterios and they where dead. so my last check was my Linksys WRT54G w/ DD-WRT on AP mode...Frozed but I reset and works again. YAY! So I pull all my dead shit that got hit by lighting and grab the spare power adapter for my hughesnet and my WRT54G on I am finally back online. How really can this shit get burn when you don't have it hook up to the phone line? It gotta be travel through my APC to my main power line. that's my foray I found out that the son of a bitch's had a fucking rail road spike as ground. A FUCKING RAILROAD SPIKE WITH A TAG THAT SAYS PROPERTY OF THE TELEPHONE CO. DO NOT REMOVE!! I cant blame Verizon bastards wouldn't clam its their fault. FUCK VERZION! Our power lines has been properly grounded by my DAD and inspected by a eletric company. We have 2 ground rods because its the law on this state I think to have them.
If Verizon would of change it since they already redid the gray box 3 years ago, this shit probably wouldn't happen!!!
VERZION can go to hell. they do care for the rural people here! thats why I dont have DSL but fronternet is taking over so enough said. so anyways my dad's g/f was computer less and her son offer his old gaming computer for my laptop. Since I hardly ever use it..I just might as well get rid of it. so what I get return...I just ask for some games this Christmas especially L4D2, ODST, and Mordern Warfare 2 for PC & xbox. haha or at least help me get a new flat screen which I got enough to buy it here in a couple of weeks.
So on bright side
WRT160N was a peice of fucking shit once it came out of the box last christmass and besides I dont got a N card (well now i do :\) to use before.
I brought a spare arcade 360 which I mod it to play backups and system link. (I cant get live so)
Rest of the parts from the computer that got hit...processor, ram, hard drive, graphics was all good. Just fry the motherboard...and just last night the power supply for it finally die.
My I got 10 days off my internet bill and they send me the right power adapter for all my troubles and i got a 10 dollars off for 6 months from being a loyal customer yay ok wtfever just save me some extra box's please
I need a monitor that would go 1080p anyways. it only cost $200 at tiger
So that's my 2 months of fucking hell here.
Update: got my xbox elite and I order my new monitor from newegg
